If you donate to the Hays County Child Protective Board, your donation will be used to fill some of the gaps where the state falters in meeting the needs of abused and neglected children in the care of Child Protective Services, such as:

  • Emergency Clothing Allowance (many children come into custody with only the clothes they are wearing)

  • Back-to-school clothing

  • Summer school tuition

  • Summer and holiday camp and day care fees

  • Emergency shelter

  • Extracurricular activities (band instruments, sports glasses, etc.)

  • Emergency physical abuse examinations

  • Medical costs that are not covered by state/federal programs

  • Individual and family counseling services that are not covered by state/federal programs

  • Automobile child safety seats (used by CPS workers when small children are removed from abusive homes, and often needed by relative caregivers)

  • Christmas, graduation, and birthday gifts

  • Driver education fees, graduation paraphernalia, and other special needs of high school students.
