Hays County Child Protective Board

Promoting a safe environment for all children!

The Hays County Child Protective Board (HCCPB) is an all-volunteer organization that began in 1978 to work with the citizens of Hays County, the Hays County Commissioners Court, and the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services. Our Mission is to enhance the lives of children from families in crisis by providing support and services not funded by the State.

Each month, the Board Members meet to consider the emergency needs of children who are in the care of Child Protective Services (CPS) because of abuse and neglectThe Board meets these children’s emergency clothing and medical needs, and it funds other needs not met by the State: car seats, cribs, bedding, driver education, tutoring, back-to-school clothing, holiday and birthday gifts, and much more.  Our board members are committed to the principle that children in CPS custody should live lives as similar as possible to children in their own homes.

The Hays County Child Protective Board has a Rainbow Room funded, in large part, by Hays County and the Remme foundation.  See our Rainbow Room and Donate pages for information on how you can help!
